Austar was set up in 1992, with main areas of business being in migration, student recruiting and overseas property sale in China.

At the moment, Austar has branch offices in Sydney & Melbourne in Australia, Auckland in New Zealand, Vancouver in Canada and 15 cities in China. Austar has more than 400 employees. The head office is in Shanghai China, with 2,500 m2 office space and 100 staff.

According to relevant Chinese rules, Austar has acquired special licenses in China to undertake migration service work and student recruiting business.

According to provisions of relevant laws in Australia, Canada and New Zealand, Austar Staffs have registered in relevant departments of those countries to provide migration services.

According to Australian law, Austar property sector has registered in Australia to provide real estates services.

Recognizing the importance of manpower, Austar is committed to standards of excellence in staff recruitment and professional development. Of the 350 staff in China, more than 100 graduated from overseas universities. Austar also sends about 20 staff overseas for 2 weeks training every year and has done so since 1999.

Migration Business

Austar mainly focuses on Business/Investment migration and assists more than 1,000 families in migrating overseas each year. Austar is one of the largest and most successful companies in this area.

Some Facts:

  • Australia: Each year approximately 1,200 families migrate to Australia from China by Business Migration. Austar alone successfully helps about 500 families per year, accounting for 40% market share.

  • Singapore: Austar accounts for about 20% market share in China, ranking No.1 in this market.

  • Canada: approximately 2,500 families migrate to Canada under Investment Migration category each year. While there is no official figure, Austar is no doubt one of the top 5 companies in this area.

  • United States: EB5 investor migration program grows very rapidly in China since 2007. Due to program uncertainty, Austar selects projects very carefully.

In accordance with law in China, Austar has obtained special licenses for all 15 branch offices in China. Austar has also paid the statutory security bond of RMB 14 million.

Student Recruiting Business

Austar commenced student recruiting business in 1997 and acts as student recruiting agent for many overseas education providers in Australia, Britain, Canada, United States, New Zealand, Ireland, Singapore etc.

Some Facts:

  • During the years between 1997 and 1999, Austar organized a series of documentary TV program together with China Central Television called "Global Famous University" and introduced worldwide universities to China.

  • From 1997 to 1998, Austar set up an office in Shanghai for Australia Central Queensland University CQU Fiji Campus. During two years, we helped 250+ students to enroll in CQU Fiji.

  • Austar is the exclusive recruiting agent in China for University of Malta (the only university in Malta) during 2000-2002. Through successful marketing and heavy investment, Austar sent over 400 students to Malta within 3 years.

  • Austar managed an office in China for DIFC (Ireland Foundation School) from 2004 to 2006. During this period, Austar recruited over 300 students for DIFC.

Our student services including:

  • Information counseling: provide overseas schools background, general information, course detail, country information etc.

  • Pre-assessment: assess students' eligibility regarding entry requirement (English and academic) as well as visa requirement.

  • Help in enrollment: help students fill in application form and communicate with school regarding students' application.

  • Visa application: help students fill in the student visa application and communicate with Immigration regarding students' application.

  • Pre-departure training: arrange pre-departure training every month. We try to let them know how they can survive in different country, especially in first three month.

  • Travel arrangement: arrange international and destination countries domestic (if necessary) air tickets for students. We make sure the airport pickup and accommodation are arranged for them (usually organized by overseas schools).

  • Staff visiting: Our staff visit overseas schools every year. We will try to visit our students at the same time.

  • Communication help between school and students' family: provide help in terms of communication, transfer information and documents etc.

  • Students' Parents' visit: after students commence their study, we can arrange for their parents to visit them.

Since 2008, Austar has been engaged in selling Australian property in China. We are also looking at opportunities in Canada, United State, Singapore and Hong Kong.

According to Austar research, among those purchasers of Australia properties more than 80% are either migrants (or in process of migration) or students' families. While Austar is a dominant player in the area, there are potentially great advantages for Austar selling property.

Through offices in China and Australia, Austar sold about 20 properties every month in 2009. Currently, this business is under rapid growth.

Among those sales, most of the properties are brand new, including apartment, house and land. Off plan property is most popular in China.
